How to use AI Pet Portrait
Upload a sharp photo of your pet
Under "Your pet's photo", add a sharp, well-lit eye-level shot of one pet with its face visible. Avoid heavy filters, and use JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB. For several pets, or you with your pet, add up to 3 more photos under "More pets or people". Use one photo per subject and check the consent box.
Pick a style and extras
Choose one of the 18 looks under "Pick a style", for example Royal, Watercolor or Memorial. Under "Make it theirs (optional)", you can add an outfit, a background, a frame and the pet's name. The name appears as a title on the portrait.
Add details, then model and format
Write extras in "Anything to add? (optional)", e.g. "sitting on a velvet cushion". Under "Model", Nano Banana Pro gives 2K images for prints. GPT Image 2 (medium) keeps lettering readable when the name must be spelled right. Under "Format", pick Portrait 3:4, Square 1:1 or Landscape 4:3; landscape suits groups.
Check the likeness, then adjust
Press "Create my pet portrait" and compare the markings, eye color and ear shape with your photo. If a detail slips, run it again or switch the model. A sharper photo taken at eye level helps likeness more than extra words.

Choosing between the models on this page
GPT Image 2 (medium): Posters, menus, interfaces and any image with readable text. Typography that stays readable at small sizes. Watch out for: not the most photoreal option.
FLUX 2 [max]: Everyday photoreal image generation and iteration. Photorealistic default. Watch out for: text rendering is weaker than GPT Image 2.
GPT Image 2.5: Edits and product shots where the subject must stay recognizable. Sharper detail and more natural light. Watch out for: small, dense text can still break.
Nano Banana Pro: Hero images where realism decides the result. Photoreal skin and texture. Watch out for: higher rate than everyday image models.
They are family. Now they get the portrait.
Some faces deserve more than a camera roll. The one that waits at the door, sleeps on your feet and knows every mood you have. A pet portrait turns that everyday face into something you hang on the wall and smile at. Upload one photo and the painting is built around your pet, not around a generic dog or cat.
Custom pet portraits that still look like your pet
The whole point is recognition. Every run starts from your photo and a strict instruction. It tells the model to keep the breed, face shape, eye color, ear shape and every marking. Nano Banana Pro is the default here, picked for how closely it follows a reference photo. If a detail slips, run it again or switch models. The rate is shown before you click.
18 styles from one photo
Royal oil with crown and ermine. Renaissance lace. Watercolor washes. Pop art dots. A 3D animated movie star. Pencil, charcoal, stained glass and a cosmic galaxy. Each new style is one more run. Try three and keep the one that makes you laugh or cry.
Funny pet portraits: costumes, names and props
Put your cat in a CEO suit or your beagle in an admiral's uniform. Your rabbit can get a wizard hat. Add a name and it appears as a plaque or a title. GPT Image 2 is the most reliable at lettering when the spelling matters. The ideas above the text field add props like a rose, a tea party or a birthday cake.
Family portraits: all your pets, or you and your pet
Upload up to four photos and everyone is painted together in one scene. Two dogs on one sofa, the cat who rules them both, or you with your best friend. Landscape format gives a group room to breathe. Only upload photos of people who agreed to it.
A memorial portrait for the one you miss
Losing a pet leaves a quiet house. The memorial style paints them peaceful and content, in warm light with soft clouds and a faint rainbow. Use the photo you love most, even an old one. Make a few versions and keep the one that feels like them.
The gift that makes people cry, the good kind
Birthdays, Christmas, Mother's Day for a dog mom, a thank-you for the pet sitter. A custom pet portrait is personal in a way a store gift never is. Make it tonight, download it and print it at any photo shop or canvas service. No waiting weeks for an artist and nothing to ship.
Print-ready: format, resolution and canvas
Pick portrait, square or landscape before you generate, so the composition fits your frame. Nano Banana Pro delivers 2K images, sharp enough for prints up to about A4 or 8x10 inches. Choose No frame if the print shop wraps the canvas. Expand the frame adds margin when you need more room.
What a pet portrait costs here
No subscription and no per-pet fee. A portrait costs 14 credits with GPT Image 2, 16 with FLUX 2 and 38 with Nano Banana Pro. Packs start at 750 credits for $9, which covers more than 50 portraits with GPT Image 2.
Frequently asked questions
How does the AI pet portrait generator work?
You upload a photo and pick a style and any extras. The model then paints a new image with your pet in it. Your photo is the reference for the face, fur and markings. The style decides the rest: costume, light, background and brushwork.
Will the portrait really look like my pet?
It is built to. An instruction to keep the breed, markings, eye color and ear shape goes with every run. A sharp, well-lit photo taken at eye level gives the best likeness. If something is off, run it again or try another model.
What kind of photo works best?
One pet per photo, face clearly visible, natural light and no heavy filters. Eye-level shots beat photos taken from above. For a group portrait, upload one photo per pet.
Can I put several pets, or myself, in one portrait?
Yes. Add up to three more photos in the second field and everyone is painted together. Landscape format works best for groups. Every person in the photos must have agreed to it.
How much does a custom pet portrait cost?
From 14 credits with GPT Image 2 up to 38 with Nano Banana Pro. That is roughly $0.15 to $0.46, depending on the pack. Portraits run on a credit pack, and there is no subscription.
Is there a free pet portrait generator?
Not with these models. The 100 starter credits on a new account work on fast image models only. GPT Image 2, FLUX 2 and Nano Banana Pro run on a credit pack, from $9. There is no subscription.
Can I print it on canvas or sell it?
You can print it anywhere. Nano Banana Pro gives the largest file at 2K. Personal use is always fine. Commercial use, such as selling prints, is covered when the credits come from a paid pack. The terms set this out.
Do you keep or train on my pet photos?
Your uploads are never used to train models. They are stored only so the job can run and so your results stay in your history.
