What Veo 3 still does well

Veo 3 is the previous generation of Google's video model, and it generates audio together with the picture. That helps on short scenes where ambient sound or a spoken line belongs to the shot. Think of a vendor calling out prices, waves hitting rocks or a door slamming in an empty hallway. Your team may already have written and approved prompts against this model. Rerunning them here keeps the look you signed off on.

The engine reads one thing only, your prompt. There is no image input, no resolution switch and no aspect ratio setting. Everything has to be in the words. Describe subject, camera, light and sound in that order. Example: "Medium handheld shot of a fish market at dawn. A seller in a yellow apron shouts the morning price. Gulls and scraping ice in the background."

A fixed 8-second length changes how you write

Duration is locked at 8 seconds. Treat each run as one beat rather than a story. That means one action, one camera move and one line of dialogue at most. Prompts that cram a setup and a payoff into a single run tend to rush both. For a sequence, write separate shots and cut them together afterwards.

Here is a prompt shaped for the format. "Slow push toward a jazz trumpeter on a small club stage, warm tungsten light. He plays a short phrase and the crowd murmurs." One subject, one move, and a sound that fills the whole clip.

Price: the top of its group

Veo 3 costs 51 credits per second. That puts it 29th from the cheapest of 31 per-second video models, which run from 2 to 205. One 8-second clip is 408 credits, about $4.34 at the best pack rate. The $9 pack of 750 credits buys a single clip with some credits left over. So this is not a model for exploring ideas.

Veo 3 is not attached to any Ugesi video tool, which means no tool presets apply. You write each prompt from scratch.

When another model fits better

For new work, Veo 3.1 gives sharper output. The listed limit of Veo 3 is exactly that. Check the Veo 3.1 page for its rate before you move. Seedance 2.0 costs 26 per second and accepts image, video and audio references. That helps when a character has to stay identical across shots. Wan 2.2 Animate at 36 per second does a different job. It copies a movement you filmed onto a character. Sora 2 Pro is no longer an option: its API shut down on September 24, 2026.
