How to use Text to Video

  1. Write one shot, not a story

In "Describe your video", name the subject, the action, the camera move and the light. For example: "a red kite rising over a windy beach, low tracking shot, late afternoon sun". Keep each clip to one beat. A Style preset replaces the box with a worked example you can adapt.

  2. Choose a model card

Under Model, pick one of the engine cards; cards marked "waiting" cannot be used yet. Models differ in length, resolution and sound. If a shot keeps failing on one, the next thing to try is the same prompt on another.

  3. Set duration and resolution

Duration runs from 4 to 30 seconds and Resolution from 480p to 2K. Only the options the chosen model supports stay active. On some models, 1080p comes only as an 8-second clip. Draft short clips at a lower resolution, then rerun the keeper at full settings.

  4. Generate, then change one thing

Press "Generate video" and check the motion, hands and faces, and whether the camera does what you asked. If something is off, change one variable per take instead of rewriting the whole prompt. That could be the camera move, the light or the action.

Choosing between the models on this page

Veo 3.1 Lite: Drafting and testing camera moves before spending on a flagship. Among the lowest video rates here. Watch out for: lower detail.

MiniMax H3: 2K video with native stereo audio and audio references. Native 2K at 24fps with stereo sound in one pass. Watch out for: 2K only at launch, 768p tier in closed beta.

Wan 2.6: Longer clips where cost per second matters more than peak fidelity. Text to video with matching audio. Watch out for: not the sharpest option.

Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash: Short shots with native sound, paid per second of the clip you get. Native audio on every clip. Watch out for: clips up to 10 seconds per run.

Wan 3.0: Long text-to-video shots that must hold one scene, now up to 1080p. First on a public text-to-video leaderboard. Watch out for: on-screen text is still maturing.

Kling 3.0: Action, product handling and anything where physics has to look right. Physical motion at 1080p. Watch out for: no sound: clips come back silent.

Seedance 2.5: Long single takes with dialogue, and reference-heavy work built from files you supply. Native 30-second generation in one pass. Watch out for: no 1080p or 4K on this route; 480p and 720p only.

Veo 3.1: Dialogue-grade masters and campaign hero shots. Native audio with dialogue. Watch out for: one of the highest per-second rates in the catalog.

Write shots, not stories

Text-to-video rewards the language of cinematography. Name the shot type, the camera move, the action and the light. Slow dolly-in, golden hour, rising steam - and keep each clip to one beat of 4-8 seconds.

A model for every budget

Veo 3.1 Lite drafts at 12 credits per second. MiniMax H3 renders 2K with native stereo sound. Kling 3.0 brings physical 1080p motion. Seedance 2.5 adds synced audio and runs up to 30 seconds in one pass. Veo 3.1 renders dialogue-grade masters. Draft cheap, spend the flagship on winners.

Iterate like an editor

Change one variable per take - light, move, or action - and upscale the keeper to 1080p/4K instead of re-rolling. The per-second price of every model sits beside its name.
