Recraft V3 - AI Model API and Pricing

Text-heavy images are the reason to open it

Most image models stumble once a prompt asks for more than a word or two of lettering. Recraft V3 is built for the opposite case. Think of a poster with a headline, a date and a venue, or a menu board. A sale banner with terms in small print and a logo with a tagline fit too. It also holds a consistent look across a series. A set of social cards can share colors, type feel and layout.

Inside AI Image Generator the Poster with text preset is the natural fit. Flat illustration works for icon sets and explainer graphics. Product on marble and Food shot are available too, but photographic scenes are not where this model stands out.

Prompts that play to its strengths

Spell out every string you want in quotes inside the prompt, and say where it goes. For example: "Minimal poster, off-white background, large serif headline 'Night Market' at the top. Below it 'Fridays from 6 pm, Harbour Street' in small caps, a single orange lantern illustration in the center." Or for a series: "Flat illustration, muted teal and coral palette, rounded shapes, headline 'Save the date' bottom left. Keep the same style for every card."

Proofread anyway. Long text is its strength, but a typo in your prompt will be rendered faithfully.

Budget and availability

A single poster draft is 6 credits, near $0.06 at the best pack. Ten variations run separately cost 60 credits, about $0.64. It sits at rank 17 from the cheapest of 41 image models priced per image. Its listed limit is that availability depends on the current catalog. If the model is missing from the picker on a given day, have a fallback ready.

Fallbacks and when they beat it

Ideogram 3.0 at 14 credits is the other specialist for readable text in posters and logos. Use it as the backup or for a second opinion on a key design. FLUX 3 at 9 credits is listed for photoreal scenes with good prompt adherence. Runs on FLUX 3 have not opened yet. Imagen 4 at 10 credits is listed for portraits and headshots. Google shut Imagen 4 down in its Gemini API in August 2026, so it is retired. For a photo-like image with no text, FLUX 2 [max] or Nano Banana Pro is the better spend today.
