  • Lower resolution than the 2K Nano Banana 2 and Pro

The entry model of the Nano Banana line

Nano Banana is the budget member of Google's image family on Ugesi. Its strengths are speed and price, which makes it the right engine for exploring ideas. Use it to test a composition or try five wordings of a concept. It also suits rough visuals for a pitch before anyone commits to a direction.

On this page the engine reads only your prompt. There is no tool preset and no photo upload attached to it. You describe the whole image in words. If the job starts from a photo you already have, use a tool that takes an upload instead.

Prompts suited to fast iteration

Short, concrete prompts give you the most useful drafts. Try: "Flat lay of a breakfast table from above, croissant, orange juice, linen napkin, soft morning light." Then change one thing per run, such as the light or the props. That way you can see what each word does.

For a concept board: "Small cabin in a snowy pine forest at dusk, warm window glow, wide shot." Once a draft works, keep that exact wording and move it to a higher tier for the final.

Resolution is the trade-off

Nano Banana outputs at a lower resolution than the 2K Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro. That shows up when you crop tightly, print, or place the image in a large hero banner. Edges soften and fine detail runs out.

Two ways around it. Re-render the chosen prompt on a 2K sibling, or enlarge the keeper 4x with the AI Image Upscaler today. Topaz Image Upscale, listed at 13 credits per image but not open yet, gives 4x output with print-grade detail.

When another model is the better spend

For posters, menus or anything with readable text, GPT Image 2 (medium) at 14 credits keeps small type legible. It also follows unusual instructions literally. For multilingual layouts and design-led posters, Seedream 5.0 Pro at 14 credits handles full layouts in 15 languages. Both cost only slightly more than Nano Banana.

Among 41 image models priced per image, this one ranks 29th from the cheapest. It is not a rock-bottom option overall. Its value is a Google-family look at the family's lowest rate.

Draft budget, worked out

One image costs 12 credits, about $0.13 at the best pack rate. A round of ten separate drafts is 120 credits, roughly $1.28. That is cheap enough to explore freely, then spend the larger amount only on the frame you keep.
